The course also includes discussions on Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), Digital Select Calling (DSC) and Personal Locator Beacons(PLBS)

The course is designed for radio operators on compulsory fitted small commerical vessels in Canada to be able to operate a marine VHF radio installation on small commercial vessels within 25 - 40 nm from shore (SEA Area A1).
The course also includes discussions on Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), Digital Select Calling (DSC) and Personal Locator Beacons(PLBS)
